Family Outing With Batu Pitu 4X4 Adventure Club
25th & 26th November 2006
My wife's colleague has been inviting us to join their group on their regular family trips a number of times before. However, we couldn't join them for one reason or another until this school holidays. The group called themselves "Batu Pitu 4X4 Adventure Club" and they are from Jalan Kebun, Kelang.

On the morning of 25th Nov, my family joined four families from that club for a fun weekend to Ulu Slim in Perak. We gathered at Balqis Tomyam restaurant in Jalan Kebun and headed out at around 10:00am using the new Guthrie Corridor Expressway exiting in Tanjung Malim. The four rigs that went on this trip were :-
Ford Ranger ~ Adon & family;
Mitsubishi Pajero V32 ~ Rizal & family;
Mitsubishi Pajero LO47 ~ Ramli & family;
Perodua Kembara ~ Miswan & family;
Toyota LC II ~ me & family....

The distance was quite far into the hillside of Ulu Slim... however the route was kind enuff for us as it was dry.. had it rained, it can be very slippery and challenging. However, at a river crossing, the LO49 was having some difficulty in overcoming that hurdle when the pilot didn't lock his front hubs. But the powerful Ford Ranger lent a helping hand ~ and with a little effort, the car crossed the river safely....
Otherwise, the trails were quite friendly.... but there few places where we had to be cautious as land slides and ravines were abundant....
A view from our trails of a modern school complex specially for the Orang Asli living in these mountains....

..... and here's some more pics from the route ....
One for the album from my crew...
As we arrived, the big tent was put up and all accomodations were made ready for the nite.
The river was nice, but a bit rapid....
but that doesn't deter the children ( and few adults...hehehe...) from splashing into the ice-cool waters......
......while some were either busy preparing meals or doing the dishes, or eating.......
.... some of the men lazed around puffing away.....

This is one 'playground' that I wud hv indulge in if at least one other of Gugujah member was there...hmmm...

On our way back, the group decided to stop at a Orang Asli settlement along the way, and donate whatever food we had balanced from the trip ... and it was aplenty.... they were all smiles...
there was a nice waterfall along the way - however for lack of space to put up tents or camp, this fall was only good for our lenses..... beautiful scenery though... and would have made a nice soaking place!

Kudos to the organiser, and this is one group that I would love to join again on another family outing.
