The Challenges Are A Coming

One of the biggest obstacle in any 4X4 outing is getting the team members together to agree on the outing dates and trip venue.   And it is definitely getting harder to get all five of us to agree on the two important decision - when and where to go.   Here's a little story that I find to be not only interesting but excitable at the same time.

I guess it all started when Whiskey-Mike brought up the unplanned trip to Ulu Yam Dalam that took place on the weekend of 11th/12th Feb 06. Everyone was busy in January, especially for me and Whiskey in getting our rigs prepped up with the essentials, i.e winches. Off the 4X4 thingy, school has just started and the long holidays for Chinese New Year and Awal Muharram in a way caused interference to the originally "plan for an outing during the holidays". Anyway, after having his car prepped with new (albeit 2nd hand) winch and new (also used!) trekker tires, Whiskey was very eager to test the new gadgets.   Thus, he voluteered the group for the Ulu Yam Dalam trip. It was such a rushed decision, that Zulu-Yankee and November-Hotel declined from joining.   Anyhow, all was well and good even though Romeo, Whiskey and I were the only three whom went on that outing. But the next few events I think caused some ripples in the mud-holes...hehehehe...

November-Hotel informed everyone in the group of his planned 2nd Lepar trip to take place during the weekend of 24th/25th/26th Feb 06 - a three days two nights affair.   I am not sure what went not so well, but I know for certain that I could have been the only one that had reservation as I was away in Penang the week of 13th Feb and would only return back to KL on the evening flight of Friday the 24th.   After much exchange of sms, November decided to postpone the trip to the next weekend (3rd March 06). However, with the adrenalin rush already flowing in the veins and having the mind setting for an outing on that weekend of 25th Feb, Romeo initiated an alternative outing for two days (instead of three) to another venue (Sungai Liang in Raub, Pahang). But for some reason, November decline to partake (later learned that he had an important busniness event to attend that Sunday).

So, the trip that finally happened on the weekend of 25th/26th Feb 06 was the Sungai Liang Outing. The following weekend, i.e. three days from today (as I am writing this on 28th Feb) the potponed trip to Lepar is supposed to take place. However, there are few issues that some of us have with that plan. Firstly, Whiskey has to be in Kota Kinabalu over the weekend, Zulu have challenges with trips beginning on Friday morning, while I need to attend to my eldest daughter's transfer of school over the weekend.  And as this is written, no sure agreements has been reached on the Lepar trip.

During last weekend's Sungai Liang outing, the four members sort of planned to re-visit the Janda Baik hills on the weekend of 11th/12th March. And with so many of us unable to partake in the planned (by November) Lepar trip this coming weekend, November informed everyone that he further postponed the trip to the following weeked, i.e. on 10th/11th/12th Feb, probably not knowing of the discussion the rest of us had on the Janda Baik revisit.

So, the decision is still pending...... hehehehehe....
